05704-A-0145  shows a dual redundant power supply scheme with overvoltage and undervoltage detection, consisting of two P12121 chips. P12121 is a power redundancy dedicated chip from Vicor, and due to its internal integration of 24 A, 1.5 m Ω MOSFETs, the external circuit is very simple. The chip OV is an overvoltage detection pin, and when it exceeds 0.5 V, the MOSFET automatically cuts off; UV is the undervoltage detection pin. When it is below 0.5 V, the MOSFET is cut off, FT is the state output pin, and VC is the working power pin of the chip. P12121 can also flexibly form a multi input power supply scheme.

05704-A-0145  is a single redundant power supply chip that not only provides overvoltage and undervoltage protection, but also provides protection against hot swappable surge currents. Figure 8 shows a single redundant power supply circuit composed of LTC4352. Multiple such circuits can be connected in parallel to form a multi-channel redundant power supply scheme. The OV and UV in the figure represent overvoltage and undervoltage detection, respectively. The circuit uses CPO to suspend the chip and prevent the MOSFET from quickly turning on and off. By relying on undervoltage detection, the GATE pin delays the opening of the MOSFET after power is turned on. The resistance capacitance network composed of R1 and C slows down the voltage rise rate of the power output, while R2 effectively prevents Q’s switching oscillation, thus achieving a certain degree of hot swapping surge current protection function.
