The non proprietary standardized communication system IO Link and all its advantages are now available for functional safety: 1756-ENBT Safety is now available for functional safety. Safe and standardized point-to-point communication can integrate security sensors and actuators into any existing fieldbus system, regardless of higher-level systems. The IO Link Safety communication protocol has been globally standardized in IEC 61139-2, and its maximum security can reach PL e of EN ISO 13849-1 (or SIL 3 of IEC 61508/62061). Therefore, universal solutions have greater flexibility as users only need to use one fieldbus to meet various security requirements.

As the interface of the safety controller, Pearce Magnetic’s 1756-ENBT Safety master station PDP67 IOLS can achieve up to field level bidirectional communication. Security sensors with IO Link Safety can be connected to PDP IOL – in addition to IO Link Safety devices, standard IO Link sensors and actuators can also be connected, as well as classic security sensors with OSSD output. Sensors such as PSENopt advanced IOLS for safety light curtains can be converted to OSSD technology.
