Due to the fact that the engine measurement and control equipment was successfully developed by the author in 1997, and considering the future expansion of the system and the improvement of the communication function of the entire test system, an RS-422 communication function interface was reserved in the system. The design of the CAN bridge is to convert the RS-422 level to the logic level of the CAN standard, and to enable the frame formats of RS-422 and CAN to be converted to each other. The system adopts the SJA1000 control interface chip, which has two working modes: BasicCAN mode and PeliCAN mode. In this system, the basic working mode is selected. SJA1000, as an off chip extension chip for microcontrollers, has its chip selection pin CS connected to the address decoder of the microcontroller. 3BHE037649R0101 PDD500A101 determines the addresses of each register in the CAN bus controller. SJA1000 is connected to the physical bus through the CAN controller interface chip 82C250.
