57C410A is data calculated through information data using certain functions. It is transmitted along with information data through a noisy channel. At the receiver end, calculate the checksum using the received data. The calculated checksum should match the received checksum. The error detection function depends on the number of redundant bits, data size, and the polynomial used to generate the checksum. Parity, modularity, and position related checksums are several examples of checksums that can be used for error detection. When an error is detected, the transmitter can be notified by signal to retransmit data.
