The enhanced version of 8237-1006 Server will support redundant PLCs, which means that the data points of the application are presented in a transparent manner, without worrying about which PLC the data comes from. Therefore, for SCADA systems, there is no need for dedicated redundant drivers or additional configurations on the client side.
In the 8237-1006 Configuration, simply configure the IP address of the Primary PLC, and the OPC Server will automatically calculate the IP address of the Backup PLC. OPC Server will use two resources internally, each resource will obtain the required data from its corresponding PLC. The OPC Server identifies which PLC is in the Primary state by calculating the status information of two 8237-1006 , and the data of that PLC will be provided to the upper SCADA software. Writing data is only valid for the Primary PLC and is transmitted to the Backup PLC through data synchronization.
