When the locomotive is being pulled, the PLC obtains the maximum current difference and current distribution coefficient from the detected output currents of the six main generators. When the current distribution coefficient is greater than the rule value and the minimum motor current is greater than the rule value, it is considered as idling. The PLC will use sanding and continue to decrease the output voltage of the main generator to eliminate it. After the idle phenomenon disappears, the output voltage of the main generator can be restored to normal value, and sanding will be interrupted after a delay of about 3 seconds. If idle cannot be eliminated, the locomotive will be unloaded (allowing for a second occurrence during the same loading process).
2.5 8851-LC-MT Disadvantages Maintenance
The PLC compares the detected main generator voltage, traction motor current, diesel engine speed, oil pressure, and cooling water temperature with the limit parameters of the rules. When a certain parameter exceeds the limit, the PLC will use methods such as alarm, unloading, or shutdown to end the maintenance of the locomotive diesel engine and electrical system.
2.6 Stepless speed 8851-LC-MT  regulation of diesel engines
PLC performs the same function as WJT. The PLC controls the operation of the stepper motor by detecting the orientation of the driver’s main handle (up, down, and up).
PID scheduling operation, and by chopping the excitation current of the excitation machine in the main generator, the locomotive speed is scheduled to the given speed value, ending the low constant speed control of the locomotive.
