In this system, two redundant 9802 need to be configured for dual machine hot standby, one as the primary PLC and the other as the backup PLC. Two PLCs are connected through switches and Ethernet cables, as well as through redundant interfaces, serving as each other’s IO controllers and devices.
The main PLC and backup PLC exchange status signals and redundant data with each other through Ethernet or redundant interfaces to achieve data synchronization. From an engineering perspective, communication connections are always established on 9802 with “main” tasks. Both PLCs establish a PROFINET connection to the IO device, but only the data from the main PLC is valid.
Two 9802 run the same PLC program, which is written using PCWORX software. PCWORX integrates bus configuration, IEC61131 programming, and diagnostic functions, and is a 32-bit control software. Controller redundancy settings and switching conditions can be achieved through hardware configuration in PCWORX software, without the need for dedicated redundancy function blocks.
