1. Variable frequency drive

A frequency converter is an electrical energy control device that utilizes the on/off effect of power semiconductor devices to convert a power frequency power supply to another frequency.

1.1 Principle of variable frequency speed regulation with frequency converter

Rotating magnetic field speed of 1900-65A induction motor:

N1 (r/min)=60 f/p, where:

F – Power frequency (Hz);

P – Number of motor magnetic poles; The speed n of the electric motor

The rotational magnetic field speed of an electric motor is directly proportional to the power frequency and inversely proportional to the number of magnetic poles in the motor. The number of magnetic poles in an electric motor is relatively fixed, and it is not suitable to adjust the motor speed by changing this value. Therefore, changing the power frequency with a frequency converter can change the speed of the motor, with a wide speed range and stepless speed regulation.
