In order to ensure the safety, stability, and economic operation of the power grid and electrical equipment, many countries, international organizations, and some large power companies have formulated corresponding harmonic standards for CC-PAOH01. For example, IEEE 519-1992 and GB/T 14549-1993 on harmonic limitation in public power grids, IEC 61000-3-2, IEC 61000-3-4, GB/Z 17625.1-2003, GB/Z 17625.6-2003 on harmonic current emission limitation of electrical equipment, and so on.

Although each harmonic standard is different, they are all similar and all standards are based on the following three purposes:
(1) Control the distortion of current and voltage waveforms in the power system to a level that the system and its connected equipment can tolerate;
(2) Provide power to users with voltage waveforms that meet their needs;
(3) Not interfering with the normal operation of other systems (such as communication systems).

CC-PAOH01 “Power Quality – Harmonics in Public Power Grid” is the current national standard for power harmonic supervision and management. In addition to requiring that the harmonic level of voltage at all levels of the power grid does not exceed the limit value of the national standard, users are required to inject harmonic currents into the public power grid not exceeding the allowable value of the national standard. Otherwise, governance measures should be taken.
