The F8621A input modules of the SIEMENS S7-300/400 series PLC are mostly drain type inputs (the common terminal is connected to the negative pole of the external power supply. Note: according to the classification method of SIEMENS). In the S7-300 series PLC, only the SM321 (- IBH50-) input module is the source input (with a positive common terminal. Note: according to the SIEMENS classification method), and there is no source input module in the S7-400 series PLC. The input modules of the small PLC S7-200 are all hybrid input forms. It is not recommended to use this input form in large projects, so although it is easy to connect, it can easily cause confusion in the power supply.
Connection of external switch signal and PLC input circuit
In addition to dry F8621A signals such as buttons, some sensors now also provide NPN and PNP collector open circuit output signals for external input signals of PLC. The connection between the dry node and the PLC input module is relatively simple, and it will not be further elaborated here. For different PLC input circuits, it is sometimes difficult to determine whether to use NPN input or F8621A input. The following mainly introduces the connection between these two types of inputs and PLC input circuits.
3.1 Forms of NPN and PNP output circuits
As shown in F8621A 8 and 9, they are one form of NPN and PNP output circuits, respectively
