There are four charging modes for electric vehicles, which are clearly stated in GB/T 18487.1-2015 “Conductive Charging Systems for Electric Vehicles Part 1: General Requirements”. Mode 1 uses charging connection cables to connect the electric vehicle to the AC power grid. Residual current protection mainly relies on residual current protection devices (RCDs) in the building distribution box. Since it cannot be guaranteed that all existing building devices are equipped with RCDs, FBMSSW is a very dangerous method and has been banned from use; Mode 2 installs an on cable control protection device (IC-CPD) on the charging connection cable, which has residual current detection protection function inside the IC-CPD; Mode 3 uses dedicated power supply equipment to directly connect the electric vehicle to the AC power grid, and a control guidance device is installed on the dedicated power supply equipment, which is the AC charging pile; When connecting electric vehicles to the AC or DC power grid in Mode 4, a DC power supply device with control and guidance function, namely a DC charging station, is used.
