489-P5-LO-A20-E Function:

1. Monitoring system: The watchdog chip is timed regularly. If the system is running normally, the timer will be reset regularly to prevent the watchdog chip from triggering a reset. If there is a problem with the system and the timer cannot be reset, the watchdog chip will consider the system to be faulty and trigger a reset to restart the system.

2. Preventing crashes: In embedded systems, especially in applications that run for a long time and require high stability, software may crash (the system stops responding). The watchdog chip can detect this situation and take corresponding measures to avoid permanent system shutdown.
