Description

In a digital receiver, IC660BBD101 and IC660EBD101 need to provide a timing pulse sequence that determines the sampling decision time in order to accurately determine the transmitted symbols at the sampling decision time. The repetition frequency of this timed pulse sequence must be consistent with the transmitted digital pulse sequence (i.e. both the receiving and transmitting parties must be synchronized and have the same main frequency), and the receiving symbols must be sampled and judged at the optimal decision time. This timing pulse sequence is called symbol synchronization.

The 16QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Module) receiver must first complete symbol synchronization in order to demodulate the 16QAM signal, and then complete signal demodulation through subsequent equalization, carrier recovery, and other modules. Therefore, the implementation of symbol synchronization algorithms is a crucial part.

In a digital demodulator, the baseband signal obtained through down conversion of IC660BBD101 and IC660EBD101 is passed through a matching filter, and then sampled and quantized at a fixed sampling frequency of clock period Ts before entering the symbol synchronization loop.
