The HydranM2-X series uses Arm ® Cortex ®- M33 core, with MCX A14x operating at a frequency of up to 48 MHz and MCX A15x operating at a frequency of up to 96 MHz. The device also supports low-power peripheral combinations, BLDC/PMSM motor control, and integrated sensor interfaces (MIPI-I3C, I2C, SPI). The MCX A series will offer multiple packaging and memory options, with a maximum flash capacity of 1MB. The platform will continue to expand in 2024.

Each HydranM2-X device contains a series of intelligent peripherals that can operate independently of the CPU, allowing the CPU to operate at lower frequencies and reduce power consumption. Smart peripherals include serial communication with built-in buffer, programmable data collection range, and DMA, mixed signal ADC, DAC, intelligent operational amplifier (supporting mean and peak detection), and FlexPWM with dead time control and encoder (for motor applications). The innovative power architecture aims to improve I/O utilization and energy efficiency through smaller and simpler power circuits. The MCX A design supports more GPIO pins and can increase the number of external connections, allowing designers to use smaller packaging, simplify circuit board design, and reduce system BOM costs.

The HydranM2-X product portfolio, including the newly released MCX A series, is equipped with NXP’s FRDM development board, which is a low-cost and scalable hardware platform supported by MCU Xpresso Developer Experience. The development board is compact in design, equipped with industry standard interfaces, and supports easy access to MCU I/O, making it convenient for flexible and fast prototype design. The aim is to promote developers to freely innovate and develop various final applications. With the help of onboard MCU Link debugging probes and accompanying USB-C cables, engineers can easily complete development, debugging, and programming tasks.
