For performance and security reasons, IC695RMX128 has always emphasized maintaining isolation between the implementation operating system and the general operating system in virtual industrial controllers, but virtual machines still need a way to interact with the external world. There are two strategies that make it possible.

The first strategy is to design the IC695RMX128 controller with independent Ethernet ports, each dedicated to a specific virtual machine operating system and isolated from other ports, thereby eliminating the possibility of port access to unbound virtual machines and providing security. Normally, real-time operating system ports are used for I/O communication, while operating system ports are used for connections to the external world. The isolated Ethernet port ensures that network attacks on the operating system network from the outside world will not affect the real-time operating system network. The same concept also applies to other hardware interfaces, such as USB ports. The Type 1 virtualization manager achieves hardware partitioning between virtual machines in this way.
The second strategy is to configure virtual IC695RMX128 and PAC to allow virtual machines to interact only through standard predefined interfaces, such as virtual network interface cards that run security protocols between two virtual machines. In industrial environments, OPC UA is becoming the preferred platform for security protocols.
