Bus Light: Enter “error active” when there are more than 96 errors

Bus Heavy: If there are more than 127 errors, enter “error passive”

Bus Off: If there are more than 255 errors, enter “bus off”
Note: If there is only one functioning CAN node and it sends a CAN message, the message will quickly be resent until it receives confirmation from another node or enters a passive error state.
