The previous generation system management bus SMBus of PFEA112-65 was a two wire bus similar to the I2C bus. In the early 1980s, Philips Semiconductor developed the I2C (Inter IC) bus, which is a bidirectional, dual wire simple bus used for effective control between TV ICs. The Philips I2C bus is compatible with ICs and includes over 150 types of CMOS and bipolar circuits, which can be used to complete communication between intelligent control devices (such as microcontrollers), general-purpose circuits (LCD drivers, remote I/O ports, and memory), and application oriented circuits (such as digital tuning and signal processing circuits in audio and video systems).
All I2C bus compatible devices come with on-chip interfaces, and PFEA112-65 can communicate directly with each other through the I2C bus.
