The direct current discharge method is to measure the instantaneous voltage drop on the battery by discharging a large current instantly. PM511V08 3BSE011180R1 calculates the internal resistance of the battery through Ohm’s law. Although this method has also been widely applied in practice, it also has some drawbacks. If this method is used to detect the internal resistance of batteries, it must be carried out in a static or offline state, and online measurement cannot be achieved. Moreover, high current discharge can cause significant damage to the battery, thereby affecting its capacity and lifespan.

Due to the milliohm internal resistance of the battery, PM866K01 3BSE050198R1 has a large measurement error using the conventional two terminal measurement method. Therefore, a four terminal measurement method is adopted here. The prerequisite for successfully detecting the battery status is to provide the required AC constant current source.
