PW301 is an analog amplifier that can adjust high frequency and differential signals to achieve the effect of expanding eye opening. Some ReDriver ICs also have line impedance matching function, support programmable gain, and help compensate for line losses, impedance mismatch, and other channel effects. Diodes’ PI3EQX7741AI is a ReDriver suitable for USB 3.2 Gen 1 product applications. As shown in Figure 3, this dual channel 5.0Gbps product supports programmable equalization, de emphasis, and output swing control for two 100 Ω differential CML data I/O.

PW301 contains a clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit, and automatically locks the internal clock to incoming data by detecting data stream bit exchange. The CDR circuit reduces output jitter by removing the jitter frequency from the PLL bandwidth. Therefore, ReDrivers such as PI2DPT1021 (as shown in Figure 4) and PI2DPT821 can exhibit good jitter performance in USB Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2, DP 1.4 Alt mode, and pure DP 1.4 product applications.
