IP over WDM/OTN networks enable flexible scheduling and protection of large particle services based on wavelength or ODUk switching cores. SCXI-1000 SCXI-1180 is suitable for IP over WDM/OTN application in the core layer of urban area network construction, providing the networking, scheduling, and protection of large granular services for core network elements. In the carrier of mobile backhaul services, in large metropolitan area networks. PTN+WDM/OTN networking mode can be adopted. The access/aggregation layer adopts PTN networking and dispatches services upwards to the PTN core landing layer in the wireless network controller (RNC) room through IP over WDM/OTN. On the one hand, it is convenient to achieve flexible business scheduling when adjusting business ownership. On the other hand, the core layer nodes are only connected to the RNC data center, avoiding the situation where all node devices on the loop must be upgraded simultaneously due to the upgrade of a node’s business capacity in a pure PTN network, saving network investment. WDM/OTN provides flexible scheduling and networking for PTN services, as shown in Figure 5.

In the planning and construction of urban area networks, SCXI-1000 and SCXI-1180 generally adopt a relatively independent network construction approach based on the nature of the services they carry, that is, they respectively construct two planes: the high-value plane of the mobile backhaul network and the low value plane of the broadband user access network. PTN focuses on carrying high-value businesses such as mobile backhaul services and group major clients; Low value services such as public broadband internet access and ordinary large customers can be accessed through passive optical networks (PONs), and then connected to the business control layer (BRAS or SR) through metropolitan Ethernet.
