SR469-P5-HI-A20-E will only be true when the input connected to it is turned on. For the internal part, if the internal position is closed, this command is true. Therefore, because both I: 1/1 and I: 1/2 are closed, it indicates that the XIO instructions for these inputs are false. The XIO representing I: 1/3 is true because it indicates that the input device is open. If there is no true instruction path from left to right, the output on the third level O: 2/2 will be turned off.
PLC system instructions
The instructions discussed above are basic instructions in PLC systems, but they only constitute a small part of the entire instruction set. Most PLCs include timers, counters, latches, and logic instructions.
SR469-P5-HI-A20-E shows a slightly more complex level control program written by the author for Allen Bradley PLC.
For beginners, you may notice entering I: 1/0. It is confusing that Allen Bradley names each channel on any card channel as 0. This is similar to the way array indexes start from scratch.
This program uses two level switches connected to the water tank to start two pumps, which must start running one after another, rather than running simultaneously. Please note that the same two XIC inputs control both pumps A and B. However, the internal position is used together with XIC to control pump A and XIO to control pump B. If step 0000 is true, use the latch command to lock pump A
SR469-P5-HI-A20-E1 is true, pump B is locked. Once the latch command becomes true, the output will remain open until the complementary unlock command is activated. A cascade usability command and XOR command control pump switching.
A single trigger maintains correct scanning of a single program during activation, while XOR’s behavior remains the same as usual. This is a simple method of switching bits using a single input.
