The traditional low-power wireless battery camera system T8403 generally consists of components such as image sensor (CIS), main control SoC chip, PIR sensor, etc. When the camera system is triggered by an event to start, the CIS first receives the ambient brightness value detected by analog photosensitive detection, and then relies on the image signal processor (ISP) on the main control SoC chip to adjust to achieve the appropriate image capture state. Even in a stable normal lighting environment, the full startup time of CIS can reach over 250ms (>0.25 seconds). Therefore, when capturing events where personnel or animals are rapidly moving within the visible range, the long response delay of the camera system can lead to situations where the brightness and quality of the event image have just reached an appropriate state but the target has already left.

To address this issue, SmartSens, an advanced CMOS image sensor supplier, has launched SmartAEC technology, a low-power fast start solution for smart IoT applications.
