T9110 layer redundancy can enable communication between PROFINET IO devices and two IO controllers, or achieve redundancy of I/O devices. The future use of PROFINET System Redundancy technology for IO layer redundancy is currently being developed by the PI organization, but it has not been officially released yet. Therefore, Phoenix has developed Phoenix Redundancy Layer technology as the current solution.
The T9110 IO device communicates with two PLCs simultaneously, and the main PLC and backup PLC each establish application relationships with local IO devices. IO devices that support redundancy function replicate their sub slots, with one sub slot used by the primary IO controller and the other sub slot used by the backup IO controller. The index of the main sub slot starts at 1 (0 × 0001), and the backup sub slot follows closely after the main sub slot, with an index of 0 × 0002.
