UR6AV  is a gateway redundant backup protocol. Everyone knows that communication between different networks is achieved by sending data to their own gateway, which then searches for the destination gateway and sends the data to the other gateway. Therefore, the existence of a gateway is crucial, affecting the issue of direct communication. So how does the VRRP protocol integrate backup gateways? IP addresses are unique within the same network segment and device. So it is also impossible to assign the same IP address to two devices.

The UR6AV  protocol solves this problem by establishing a virtual gateway between two devices. Our terminal gateway points to this virtual gateway. As long as the virtual gateway is present, the network can operate normally, regardless of which device is a real one. The VRRP router that controls the virtual gateway IP addresses is called the master router, which is responsible for forwarding packets to these virtual IP addresses. Once the main router is unavailable, this selection process provides a dynamic fail over mechanism that switches the permissions of the main router to another backup device. The virtual gateway will continue to be used by the backup router. Ensure that network access is not compromised due to the failure of a single gateway device.
